[Patch] Complex preview for save game files

Ok, not that complex, but that is the most appropriate follow-up title. * Path on top * GalaxySetupData available for preview * Visible Columns and their widths set by options (no GUI, I think we can satisfy regular users with defaults) * A tooltip per row showing all available information * Use dia...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

I'd like to use the save file selecting dialog in the MP game setup screen as well, instead of the droplist that is there now. The lobby gets that list from the server and identifies the choice using an index in the list it got. Do we even know that the multiplayer save resides on the local compute...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

Generated save game name now shares timestamp code with autosaves.

Added the filename to the table. I think an option for this would be overkill.

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

Gives a simple default name when saving Focuses on the name edit when saving Lets choose by pressing enter when filename focused The sum effect is that the user can just press enter when the dialog opens. The autogenerated name is "save-" + ISO date time +".sav". Encoding more information in the na...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

As it happens, GalaxySetupData is in MultiplayerCommon and in the beginning of a save file to boot. Therefore it would not be that much trouble to show it, assuming we return to using a side panel and drop the empire name. What do people think? On showing the file name in the list, I kind of agree t...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

Wow didn't even realize the font size could be changed.
The static sizes are calculated using the font now.

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

It seems to be not showing the old-version saves now for me (as intended, I think). Yes. Good. Put it before the whole class definition, like other examples in the file, such as "struct FO_COMMON_API CombatData". Done. Should have paid more attention. Moving it to a free function just (seems to me ...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

Adding the initialization doesn't seem to have helped with the random filler numbers when the save file isn't read in properly. For me trying to read the preview from them throws an error and they are ignored. Apparently for you, boost happily reads whatever is there and returns garbage. I now atte...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

Since other boxes have outlines, you are right by consistency alone. No, ListBox does not support resizing, each of those places subclasses it and does the resizing itself. I did that too, now. I had to add mutable access to the header row to the protected interface to keep it synced. Moved SaveGame...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

I think the SaveGamePreview data needs a separate header, since the server needs to see it to put the preview into the savefile, and the client needs to see it to preview it. If you feel like avoiding extra files and there is a logical, shared place for this, please suggest it. But it does need seri...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

After moving the player name and the empire to the table, there was nothing left in the info panel, so I removed it. The directory is now chosen using an edit and a button, as suggested. If you still have utf issues, I would ask you to send a log and a stack trace, I can't figure out where it might ...

Re: [Patch] Simple preview for save game files

I added directory browsing and found ways to make the list box more consistent. I also think I got all utf conversions covered now, but since I develop on linux, these problems don't manifest for me, nor do I have a proper mental model of what is going on there. EDIT: And all changes are again relea...

[Patch] Simple preview for save game files

I noticed a bullet for having some preview information when choosing save files and the lack was bugging me, so I made a simple solution. To make scanning as quick as possible, I put the preview information at the start of the save file. Unfortunately this makes it incompatible with save files witho...
