On amd64 linux there is problem with graphviz library. You have to compile latest version from repository. But you need to comment line in file UI/TechTreeWnd.cpp

//agraphattr(graph, "ordering", "in");

and also apply PS2INCH patch to the same file. Vleon posted patch to bugzilla.

Right now there is problem with FreeOrion running on AMD64 Debian testing. It compiles, but segfaults in generating techtree. Half a year ago, it worked and it is something 64 bit library related(graphviz or ogre). You can compile it and try to run new game. I think it is something shaders/OpenGL re...

I think I found what the problem is. Problem with crashing may be related with current Ogre library on 64bit - something with shaders(I have OpenGL 2 graphic card GeForce 6600GT) according to one forum. The SDK is intentionally Windows only. I'm not a linux person, but my understanding is that there is too much variation between different linux distros for a single SDK to be feasible.
