Re: Mac OS 10.4 compile issues

My computer is intel-based. I tried unchecking the "Allow ZeroLink" option in the build menu, and turned off the "User ZeroLink" option wherever I saw it in the build options. No luck -- but I might have missed 15 other places where I would need to do it. My ZeroLink is set to "NO". Go ahead and re...

Re: Mac OS 10.4 compile issues

Another thought occurred to me: is your Mac PowerPC or Intel-based?

Right now everything's setup for Intel Macs only and I'm not quite sure how a PowerPC-based Mac will behave given the current Xcode project.

Re: Mac OS 10.4 compile issues

I had downloaded the latest version, then added in the SDK files (not allowing it to overwrite newer files). This is a potential cause for problems. Download the SDK first and then `svn update` from the included sources. So I figured I would try just getting the SDK to compile before updating it. I...

Re: MacOsX Version issues

The Mac OS X text for this protected wiki page should be updated. (binary is no longer in two parts... also "OS X" is more proper than "OSX") New wiki source can be pasted in: ==Mac OS X== Binaries for Intel Mac OS X are available [https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=75752&package...

Re: Compile Errors (3339)

Thanks, it was useful. Just committed the change to fallback on that alternate method for determining paths, let me know if you guys see any problems.

Re: Compile Errors (3339)

Thanks for the help in getting the Xcode project updated to recent revisions. I'm still figuring out what to do about the case sensitivity problem. As an FYI, I think there's still an issue that's an artifact of revision 3328: the AI and Server processes now calling InitDirs() is not working for me....

Re: Hangs up on galaxy creation

The left mouse button issue seems to be the same as discussed here: http://www.wreckedgames.com/forum/index.php/topic,1079.msg5821.html#msg5821 The last poster in that thread has a more specific description in the OGRE forums: http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=48056 nutwing's issue i...

Re: Hangs up on galaxy creation

Sorry to say that I can't reproduce either problems myself. The mouse focus issue is similar to an old bug in OGRE specifically under the Carbon framework and inside fullscreen. It was resolved by switching to Cocoa, but maybe it's still work asking: are you running the game in fullscreen? I agree t...

Re: Can't apply OS X patches

No problem. In case you were curious about the conflicts... I believe they're there because I packaged up the SDK with local modifications that had not been committed to SVN (I wasn't a committer yet). Doing 'tc' to choose "their conflict" version instead of "mine" was correct so that you'll get the...

Re: Can't apply OS X patches

First, let me apologize for not having updated the wiki after I made my contribution to the Mac OS X SDK as I think all your problems are from following the directions there. Summarizing the recent history of FreeOrion for Mac OS X : the last maintainer was providing a set of patches and an SDK (whi...

Re: Can't apply OS X patches

I don't get a successful build when I switch to GCC 4.2 so it's unlikely you will either (for now). On the "Edit Project Settings" window there should be a few different tabs to look at. For me there is "General", "Build", "Configurations", and "Comments". Have you looked in the "Build" tab for the ...

Re: Can't apply OS X patches

I couldn't find where it says "C/C++ Compiler Version", so instead, I set the "Base SDK" to "Mac OS X 10.5". Now, the build is successful (took less than a second, is that normal?) but I still have no idea how to actually launch the application. I used the "Build and Run" button and it said: "No la...

Re: Can't apply OS X patches

The Mac OS X compile wiki is out of date. The step to apply patches isn't required. (I don't have much time to be active, can someone edit it with any info I give below that ends up being useful?) If you download the SDK from SourceForge it contains a snapshot of FreeOrion source from a release a wh...

Re: MacOsX Version issues

I'd like to modify chmain.mm a bit so that running with the -h flag will produce console debug output and then exit without starting the game. Will this work? Index: chmain.mm =================================================================== --- chmain.mm (revision 3130) +++ chmain.mm (working co...

Re: MacOsX Version issues

Figured it out...
The option to "Manage Releases" was not on the main "Files" page, had to go into the "Release Notes" for a specific release to see it.
