Re: I'm here - introduction

As I pointed out, I don't expect answers, but merely wanted to vent the sort of questions running through my head when I played my first rounds. As you know, much of it is covered in the wiki, but can seem hard to understand from a beginners point of view. Some I have answered myself, after a couple...

Re: I'm here - introduction

Ah, perfectly understable now when you mention it, Mat! I should have payed attention to the scanlines (as I always have previously). I like the scanlines indication, really - it should tell me not to rely on the information at this given point. Following below is an extract of questions and comment...

Re: I'm here - introduction

So, I'm still here enjoying this masterpiece, of course! Had a few battles testing the new builds, and now when returning from summer vacation (and the real world on earth) I was wondering about this situation (build 2016-04-19): http://gymer.se/game_web_image/why_intel.jpg Why do I have Intel telli...

Re: turns change slower and slower as the game progresses

I'm at turn 512 and notice very little lag. Reason? I play against 4 AI in 150 systems on cautious level (I guess?). AI don't build as many ships etc. I was also wondering what impact hardware specs has on performance? Some of you probably sit on high-end PC's (mine is quite solid, but outdated in t...

Re: Did you ever quit a game because it was too easy?

No, I havn't quit for that reason (but again, I havn't played that many games yet  ) Actually, I havn't quit for any reason to be specific, but I might do some day, well into some later games (hope not). At the moment, I'm on turn 460 with PP at 1.2k in a game with horrible starting conditi...

Re: No New Star

You might need to "discover" it first. I'm quite new to the game, but to me it looks like you have no scout, nor detection range to actually se the star type.
Others, correct me if I'm wrong, please :D

Re: I'm here - introduction

Fantastic! Thanks for explanation, and I agree that various type bonuses should be distributed between species. I have by now started to actually read the pedia "soft" text (the not so important snippets) and find it quite amusing. "Collective thought computing" - who came up with that? Still laughi...

Re: I'm here - introduction

Thanks Mat, for your comments and tips. Yes, I need to explore the possibilities of making better troopships. As of now I tend to use robotic hulls with an 8x troop capacity. Mostly carries Hhhoh, but I think their troop bonus is only for defence, right? Question : Is the planet troop number reflect...

Re: I'm here - introduction

[Build 2016-04-19.1fe183d] So, well into my 3rd or 4rth(?) playthrough on beginners level (3 AI + monsters) and the new troop system in the works I feel very limited by the troopship production. I produce warhips in a good rate, but always have to take a step back in order to find troops. I think I ...

Re: Small things I noticed

yup, Mat, I realized the 's' needs to be left out from the link as I saw this in several places and understood it was a coding technique. That's fine, just wanted to highlight it in case it was a single typo. I also realize that some texts are more or less placeholders and perhaps will be replaced/r...

I like this suggestion. Not sure it would be a useful decision-maker, but as population is somewhat crucial, it would be nice to be able to keep track... (more data to the people!)

Small things I noticed

I'll try to collect my small observations in this thread: First out: Build 160419.1fe183d http://gymer.se/game_web_image/pedia_organic_war_adaption.jpg Cosmetic : Link marker has missed 's' in the text " Organic Hull s" and I suppose the following text is missing 'to' as in '...are able to collect.....

Re: I'm here - introduction

Thanks MatGB for clarifying the Logistic Focus! I was not entirely certain of what I meant when asking for a curve (graph) of logistics because I didn't understand what it was, in terms of attribute/numbers (where it belongs and how it is distributed). I figured it would be a "global" parameter as w...
