Also the "born of blood" expansion.
How many 4x games actually have expansions come to think of it? I can't think of any. Sequals yes, but not expansions. :?

Well, seeing as it's not 3am now I can think with a clearer head. ;) Much as I do like the slots, they do strike me as being too restricted overall. Lists are much more flexible so I'll put my vote in that direction. Though I don't have much of an idea about the over-all game (due to long periods aw...

IMO we should split the design system into two parts. The space available inside a ship and the space available on its hull. Space Empires is an obvious example of this type. ------ Personally, though I like the Stars system very much, it's very restraining. You can only have ships that do certain ...

I did note it - but having reported several bugs on their forums, it strikes me as likely that any un-known and thus un-resolved bugs must be very rarely enountered or very obscure. ;)

Back when techs were being initially designed, it ended up being me doing essentially all the work, because everyone who contributed refused to learn how to write their techs in the then-used XML format Well then it strikes me that maybe making tools would have been an idea. I assume it was just te...

Ok, cool. It is good that they are making a new race. Tunnel drive doesn't sound very unique though. I'd like to know more. Maybe I could try this game when the expansion comes out. True. But it can't be easy coming up with five different trans-stellar motion creation devices (i.e. star-drives) tha...

The difference in gameplay wouldn't seem to be huge. I suppose it could theoretically allow a player to research several levels of a tree in one turn with high research levels, but i'm not sure that's a problem. Are you sure about that? It can have an effect. Here's a quick breakdown: a) RP's carry...

So, anyone tried the expansion Dark Avatar? It seems to be getting good reviews, with an overall rating of around 87% (very good for a expansion): http://www.metacritic.com/games/platfor ... darkavatar

Bank Atlantic had the right idea in forwarding you. Normal banks shouldn't have to keep large quantities of silver/gold lying around - all they do is provide independent banking facilities. The money itself ($1) is owed by the US government, not a private banking facility. Thus the federal reserve (...

I believe the primary criticism to "realspace FTL" is that it'll make the AI harder.

Several - I can think of three off the top of my head that I've experience first hand. 1) Units plot courses through uncharted warp points 2) Units go stop and then backwards and forwards repeatedly for an indefinite number of turns if they find a hostile unit is on their plotted course. 3) Units do...

That's not a bug. It means the AIs were fighting it out. The AI's fighting? At turn 20? Don't make me laugh. The AI in this game is so pathetic it's entire fleet would have trouble stopping a spit-ball. Half of the time their units are weaponless, half the time there's a ordinance bug that stops sh...

Though seriously, i admit a high percentage of space conquest game names have been taken. That's only because they're not very imaginative and stick to "star". There are plenty of synonyms etc: Universe, Cosmos, Galaxy, Space, Stellar [little used], planetary [for the games with less scope], Solar ...

Well having played the full thing I'm a little disappointed at all the bugs / UI issues. I've played three games so far. Two of them ended abruptly near the start (around turn 20-30) when the game hit the "processing after players turns..." screen, and just sat there doing that for 5 mins before I k...
