Drek: Hmm, we aquired that list about 3 years ago (just looked at the game changelog). Never was told the source. :) Pembroke: You realise what you're aiming for is similar to what they do with semantic, and syntactic programs that do all manner of strange things to language to try to get computers ...

22/m/UK Am lead dev for a online (open source) Browser based game (space based of course :) ), & run my own server for it (se.purely.info). Liked MOO1 most of the 3 MOO's. Like Star's a lot too. Am trying to offer my web dev skills here, but they don't seem to be needed :( ... So just making random ...

I havn't seen that particular MySQL error before. If you did hit it during a reset it must have actually been reset while the script was being run (which is rare, because scripts only take fractions of a second to run). Generally such error messages are one-offs. Other such ones include: Couldn't co...

special ship modules
I note there have been some discussions as to how ship modules should be portrayed on ships, but i havn't seen a thread that deals with what the modules should do. I relise this is v0.4 stuff, but here are some early suggestions anyway. What i mean by ship modules are weapons (beam, missile, and pos...

To clarify a bit more, i envisage starting a game as something like this: you click the 'start new game' button. You select the race you want to play and do all the customising stuff. click 'next', and get a page that lists basic game options (like small, medium large uni, and other basic things (si...

administration of workloads.
Morning Folks. I'm a PHP/MySQL coder and it seems i may be of assistance, though obviously not by writing anything directly for the game. Having taken a few look around this programming forum, it seems you folks don't really have any viable way of keeping track of who's doing what, and what needs to...

new game options
I'm not sure what the present concensus is, or if there even is one (havn't yet seen anything in the posts i've read), but here's a suggestion on game creation. First a example. MOO3, allowed you to create a game with the very minimum of options: Number of races, customise your own race, and also se...
