Re: What unlocks planet access?

"Each of the technologies that increases population tells you by how much in their relevent entries. Most of these come under "Growth" but some come under "Construction"." Not one says that it will increase your access to planet types. Not even a note so vague. Increase growth of your people, yes. S...

Re: I won!

The Chato initially had one count it one planet type that they could occupy.
One is not a broad range.
I felt gypped.

Re: What unlocks planet access?

The objects menu does not allow filtering by 'colonizable planets that I have not colonized.'
This would be a great benefit for the players if that could be done.

I won!

No acknowledgement. Looked around and a native colony had some defenses. many turns later, knocked that down. Still no notice that I had won. It was on a 2 player 12 colony setup. I could not win with the aggressive races, the research high ones did win. The Chato which I used was listed as "having ...

Re: Planet mines 3 not working

OK, I was wrong, was hopeful, and thought the mine would help wear down the monsters. The monsters breed and stackk and overwhelm. But they should still be part of the planet defenses, and in many cases the planet needs more defense vs monsters than vs anything else. Or note in the reserch note that...

Re: Debian Git snapshot of FreeOrion now available

I think I did that. I am using Mint flavor of Ubuntu, some ubuntu instructions fail. I tried this. That sources.list was empty before I added that line in. And when I went to complete the update, I got a long list of successful stuff but ended like this: universe Translation-en_US Fetched 379 kB in ...

What unlocks planet access?

As a start, only a few planet types are available. And as I research and progress, more and more come on line. But there is no note in the manual/'pedia on which does this. Now it might depend on species that I am using, but I still want/need this info. At a minimum I would like a list of worlds tha...

Planet mines 3 not working

In the latest 0.4.4 windows, I was sore beset by heavy duty monsters and researched Planetary mines 3. And no matter which planet I checked, checked many turns after that ressearch, Planet defense 3 never appeared. I got so many Kraken on my screen that I have to restart. And the Bloated whatsis are...

Re: Linux version is broken

The win 7 has features that the lunix misses. You are probably playing a very outdated version on Linux. No recent (v0.4.4 or later) prebuilt Linux binaries are provided by the FreeOrion project directly, so you'll need to compile from source for yourself, or try to get a version from your distro's...

Linux version is broken

I have both a linux (mint flavor of Ubuintu) and a Win 7 computer. The win 7 has features that the lunix misses. Like being able to build asteroid hulls. If you add asteroid hulls, death rays, crystal anything to your basic design, you will not be able to build it. I have played a 500 turn game wher...
