Re: Ship weapons rework
Just first round at LR, second round at SR, third and following rounds at CR. Better I think. But doesn't an approach like this limit the scope of tactical combat? I mean if ships fire at each other only at certain ranges during certain rounds doesn't it imply that tactical combat is rather simple?...

Stealth as Defense
Currently Stealth is very tricky to the point of being almost useless. Instead of Stealth being all or nothing it might improve things to think of it more like ECM. Even a little bit of stealth might be of help protecting the ship. Not sure how it would work though. Maybe every certain level of stea...

Re: Themed tech cateogries (Help wanted)
Like the Civ Game's obviouslly. The Civ tech tree is way more realistic. Each tech is very dependent on each more less advanced tech.

Re: Themed tech cateogries (Help wanted)
Thoughts of category themes with names PHYSICS: StarTrek/Protoss theme Instead of Physics I would suggest Energy instead. I see you are going the straight Master of Orion tech tree with this, but in reality (there's that word again) wouldn't many techs/weapons be dependent on research from more tha...

Re: Noob Question
Another problem, I colonize a planet and nothing I do can bring it into the supply chain. Even when I add an outpost at the closest point, (2 systems away) no luck. I'm not sure I understand the supply stockpile issue since all I have 1s the pedia, which does little to explain the mechanics A littl...

Yes, shooting a Raaagh in the head is a waste of a good bullet. Exterminate them.

Re: Make shipyards & drydock implicit (not a building)
OK, I was not completely honest. In the first hundred turns or so when I have only a limited number of ships yes I do wait for them to be repaired. But mid to late game ships are so easily replaced I find it a waste of time to wait around for repairs. Extra shipyards are just micromanagement and a w...

Re: Make shipyards & drydock implicit (not a building)
Sorry, but I get the feeling you are all trying to fix something that is not broken.
Personally, I only build shipyards where I want to build ships.
I never send ships back to be repaired. I always push forward regardless.

Re: TAR model: Theories only require other theories?
My main issue with a Theory-Application-Refinement tech system is that it means there are a lot of techs that do nothing. This has been my major complaint about the current tech tree since about the first time I played FO. I really really dislike researching techs that give me nothing. It's not FUN...

Bad comparison, sorry. FreeCiv is a completed game. FreeOrion is still in Alpha.

Re: In honour of FreeOrion developers and contributors
Many thanks for your kind words.
I hope I love the FO project as much as you do.
And I hope any criticisms of mine are taken in that light.
I echo your sentiments to the developers.
I can't thank them enough for there efforts.
God Bless and God speed.

Re: No end?
This game is in what as known as Alpha testing. In Beta testing the game is more or less finished and all that remains is bug fixing, optimization and play balance. Before that is Alpha testing. In Alpha the game is not feature complete. It lacks important features expected to be in when the game is...

Re: Starbases
But a ship does not increase Supply range, which is what I want bases for. When playing on maps with very few stars it would be nice to make an artificial Supply point some how. Especially early game. I'm not concerned with making static defenses. A Fleet is much better for that. And except for some...
