Re: C++11
That surprises me. I thought Xcode/Clang C++11 support was solid. Do you mean that freeorion could not be compiled on 10.6 or that it could not even be compiled for 10.6 on another OSX machine when using C++11? Are the issues with 10.6 still a problem, is it still in common use? I don't know the dis...

Re: Isolated planet
I could have used a sitrep report. I thought that the isolated planet was a glitch and only built the starlane to see if it would snap to the apparent planet or if a planet from another coordinate was being displayed out of place. A sitrep like the our scientists have observed the formation of a new...

C++11
I tried to search the forums for this topic, but C++11 is too short of a search term. The question is. Are we interested in starting to use C++11 features? The more leading question is. When will we be interested in using C++11 features? I am bringing up this topic, mostly because I want to use the ...

Re: Changing low planet density even lower
Most of the AIs fared well enough. All 8 reached and colonized the colonizable planets in their section of the galaxy. I understand your point that in the real world most stars probably have enough debris to form a gas giant or two. However, the label on the box says low planet density, so I expect ...

Re: git why bigger fonts?
For the record I like 12 pts with 12 pts line height. Perhaps we could choose a font size to line spacing ratio that looks good and then allow players to zoom the UI independently of the map zoom. We could add hotkeys Alt+- and Alt++. Everyone can read comfortably and quickly adjust all the fonts wi...

Changing low planet density even lower
I've been playing with the different options to start new games. I tried the low planet density options and I couldn't tell the difference from the medium density option. I checked the file where it is defined and the difference is between medium 70% chance of no planet in an orbit to high 77% chanc...

Re: I'm here - introduction
Bromstarzan it is great to see at least one other person playing on two monitors. The multi-monitor fix does not do everything that you want. It only allows freeorion to startup in a window larger than a single monitor. The sub-window sizes that you keep adjusting each startup are not stored in eith...

Re: First Time Player Thanks, Observations and Suggestions
Thanks for the reply. You should try two monitors. I only have Intel integrated graphics and it works fine. However, if you haven't tried/noticed, if you order a fleet that's partially invading to move, then the invasion happens then the remnant fleet moves on anyway. I hadn't noticed. Thanks, it is...

First Time Player Thanks, Observations and Suggestions
TL:DR. Awesome game. Keep up the good work. Hello. I have played the git version of freeorion. Freeorion is fun, exciting and replayable. The imperial alien species are distinct and memorable. The variability in the start conditions makes the first 100 turns entertaining. Being jammed in a corner by...
