I tried random maps, too, once or twice, but I found them ugly and unbalanced. Also the AI seems to have an aversion to using transports to get colony capsules to other islands. That made it even more easy for me to spread like the plague I am and crush all opposition :D

I'd prefer to have more options to tell my vassal what to do. Like to not "share" my territory. There's *plenty* of room everywhere and where does this moron have to build his new base? Right next to mine. Duh. I can also give you the reason why I still do well without saving: I use the large planet...

We have decided to use a governemt system similar to SMAC's. So there will be 4-5 entries for things like: Government, Economy, Religon, Values (?) Alright, I just noticed that I don't remember all of our categories, but I'm sure aquitaine still has the document somewhere. Anyway, we cannot decide g...

Actually I don't consider it a shame, I'm playing a game after all, to enjoy myself, not to further some noble causes... :D But nonetheless I started a no-reload-game right after reading your post here. So far I'm doing pretty well. Played the University with the Spartans on the same landmass as me....

I always use save games. Probably because I never play multiplayer games. It just saves me a lot of frustration if and when things go badly.

This is probably why no 4x games have attempted any significant ground combat engine before.. What about the Imperium Galactica series? Those games had RTS ground combat and the AI actually did a half decent job of fighting there. First it would group his forces and array them, before advancing. Us...

According to my title, I'm a dual classed FreeOrion Designer / Space Monster... That probably means I'm at least half-elven, too, if I know the d&d rules :)

Race picks will probably come in a much later version of FreeOrion. We need to have most other things in place before we can decide those.

The Manderans

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away the Manderans lived on their homeworld of Mandera Prime. They were of average height and size, not unlike the humans, but their origins were amphibic, so their appearance was quite different. Their culture was ancient, rich both in knowledge and material go...

Don't Post your races here. Put them in their own Thread.

The old "Post your races here" organizational idea isn't really helping. It's also confusing people. Please just make a new thread , for your new species ideas, and remove it from this thread.. For those concerned with making the most up-to-date concept of their aliens easy to find, i'd recommend e...

Yeah, I love it. Just when I was finally good at *something*, fate (?) strikes again... Though having lots of posts doesn't necessarily mean I was good at anything 'cept posting fast :D
