Thanks lads.

And <log-level>DEBUG it is then.

Other than that and compiling with '-g', is there anything else that I could do to maximize debugging output from FO?

The reason that I ask is because debugging is part of how I want to contribute to the project.

Solved, solved, and SOLVED!

Thank you pd for putting me on the right path.

Resolution solved. Data files?

Okay. Solved my resolution crisis.

But what's the process being used to distribute the data files?

'K. Doing ./freeorion --help gets me some options, chief of interest to me are: --app-height Sets vertical app resolution. | Default: 1024 --app-width Sets horizontal app resolution. | Default: 1280 Also in UI/ClientUI.cpp I find: db.Add( "app-width", "Sets horizontal app resolution.", 1280, RangedV...

Data, CVS, Resolutions

Hi I compiled from CVS and got FO to work, and I successfully compiled it. Then FO crashed because i had no default/data, so I downloaded data.tar.bz2 (from somewhere off the forums), uncompressed it into default, and then ran FO again. Joy! It works! I get a slash screen and everything. Bummer. Eve...

I agree with developing a simple combat model for now, based on calculable stats of the ships and fleets, then adding complexity to this option as we go (like Daveybaby-like initial orders). But later in the development roadmap, we definitely need an interactive combat-model like Rapunzel & Utilae a...

GDB Advice

Hi! It's great that someone is making a MOO clone and I want to help as I can. Currently, I'm trying to find the cause of a seg-fault that occurs when I run FOv0.2 on my system. I'm trying to do it using GDB, but the progam just hangs when I run freeorion. <gdb> GNU gdb 6.2 Copyright 2004 Free Softw...

Thanks again for your help Yoghurt! And thanks for the updated GiGi. Though I've been trying at different times over the last two days, I haven't been able to get the latest CVS. As soon as I know what's causing the seg-fault, I'll post it to Programming. Right after I figure out why my GDB freeks o...

Thanks again Yoghurt. You're advice has been great. I ran update-configure.sh, then went the automake route. Except for two compilation errors that I tracked down in GiGi, it compiled fine. "ldd freeorion.exe" now gives proper values, and now, I no longer have the problem that I had before with the ...
