You can set colonies to influence focus to produce more IP. Please can someone put this in the Pedia entry (Meters->Influence). Just wanted to apologise to Oberlus here - I know it looks like I flounced off in a huff after your hulls proved immune to my mines, but that was a coincidence - I had an HR case blow up at work and had to suspend someone, and I've done nothing else for two days. Presumably the intention was not to make them immune to mines, hence the Pedia wording. The wording is about blockade and fight as far as i can see - mine tech effects are none of this in technical terms (blockade restricts the way your ships can fly). Bug report, turn 182:

At Ukko: Mines caused 112 damage to the Oberlus fleet Foreign fleet.

But they didn't. All his ships are at max hp, apart from the two that got shot during the combat.

Mines have worked before, just not on this fleet.

I don't think that's fair. Oberlus was at pains to compensate the rest of us for the advantages he gained from Ophiuchus leaving. Ophiuchus left for RL reasons, which is always beyond reproach.

Does 0.4.10.1 have influence? It's going to be an interesting experience if it does - and I think we might want to be more open to fixes/updates if we're testing that.

Otherwise I think we should eschew updating for new functionality unless it fixes bugs we all want fixed.

I'd like to play, and I support both Oberlus's and L29Ah's suggestions: no server updates (unless to fix an egregious bug, agreed by remaining players), and alliances on - but I would suggest no more than 3 allies can win, to save it devolving into 5vs4 or whatever.

I agree too. Giving gifted colonies zero happiness/PP/RP (like being conquered) we could do now. Then when influence is working that could be the resource that allows gifting. Bearing in mind you only have to give one colony to give your ally your good pilots/research/production, it can be quite exp...

Did they have bad industry then? I'm pretty sure they were bad at one of the two, not just bad troops. Maybe not. It's nice that the game evolves.
