Ad-Infinitum

#1 Post by BrodieBrodie »

I am currently coding an open source 4x game: Ad-Infinitum

see: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ad-infinitum/

Game details: Space game of galactic conquest. Real time / turn based strategy with civilization type colonization of planets. Influences include: Civ, Master of Orion, Emperor of the Fading Suns, Dune. Universe a future dark age with noble houses vying for control. Unlike many galactic conquest type games, combat/play takes place mostly on the worlds in a sort of multi world Civ using hexes.

I have posted more info on the game at:

http://www.kborek.cz/forum/phpBB2/viewt ... 13727ed1fc

The game is heavily influenced by Emperor of the Fading Suns. A game i felt touched upon perfection in the 4x theme, but was so shoddily marketed, programed and released before proper testing that it missed the mark. Ah...it was so close. My aim is to correct, improve, advance and further the concept of EFS. To go where EFS so boldly showed the way but dared not tread.

Assuming that your license is compatible with theCC 3.0, you may want to use our planetary textures for your space view.

Not yet sure about borrowing planets yet, my final planet tiles and their sizes are not yet fully defined. But thank you for the offer. Talking of borrowing graphics i am already indebted to FreeOrion for the nebula graphics. And am i correct in thinking, eleazar, that you are one of those involved with the freeciv city tile sets? If so, my humblest thanks for the graphics that i have adapted into ad-infinitum cities.

I added 5 more to the trunk over the last week or so.

I'm registered as "eleazar" at freeciv (and other places) too. I've contributing a few things, but i'm not sure how much was ever included— chances are you aren't using any graphics i worked on.

Hello,
Just to let any interested know that the 4x galactic conquest project Ad-Infinitum at https://sourceforge.net/projects/ad-infinitum/ is being updated. Still is alpha stages but several interesting features. Should now give a very clear indication of games direction and feel. My apologies about the delay; I have had several problems with computers and updating the code and compilers to my new laptop etc. But all this is now solved.
Feed-back is welcome hereto. Please tell me if you have any problems running the program, what you think, criticism or praise and if you can participate (artists are sought).
the project is housed at sourceforge.net with several recent updates and downloads.
