Today we have an article covering a big departure from other 4x games, how we're approaching hero skills as acquired traits as opposed to leveling skill trees!

Also a new wallpaper, showing off the Mars like minimal planets: (Matt Damon not included)

Our Kickstarter campaign may not have hit its funding goal, but it did help spread word about the game and we've had more web traffic than before! In the coming weeks we'll be going from daily articles to a few article updates a week. We will continue to do weekly status updates and species videos.

For today though we have a new species article covering the silicon based Tulocks:

Today we have a mechanics article covering espionage missions in Lord of Rigel. Mechanics wise it combines the best of the systems in MOO1 and MOO2 with some unique twists to make spying more useful!

Also, we wanted to show off a fleet scale image for the Aranids!

Showing off one of the other pre-warp minor species today.

This week we finished up diplomatic victories, the galactic council, and council decrees. Council decrees are a lot like the planetary council votes in SMAC.

One announcement we have is that we're switching from turn based to real time tactical after doing a lot of testing. Our old turn based system can still be played with in our tactical combat demo we released a few months ago.

Also we're showing off our ringworlds:
