Having multiple themes available is not useful, a option that isnt neccessary, neither is linking UI-color that strongly to empirecolor, as discussed earlier. There are good suggestions how empirecolor can be used in UI, and there may be use to have somekind of racial theming, but mainly, we will have one UI-theme and coloring that we stick to, and whatever color it will be it can't please everyone - here the idea of extra graph-packs comes handy

And that's the background in v0.2... I figured we'd get a new one for v0.3, though there haven't been any recent submissions that are as good or better than the v0.2 one (IMO)
Your new logo is a tad... bland and flat? The stylized O is nifty, though. I'd also suggest playing with the colour a bit... red logo in dominant-red background image doesn't really stand out as much as it could / prehaps should...
hey Mystiqq, this is an awesome logo you've got there. my logo was only tempory and i planed to create a new one.
i had a pretty similar approach in mind(the center O with a planet sickle, though it was something missing). now you have added this center star and wow it looks gorgeous. good work.
Heres another splash I made this morning to test out the capabilities of the new Vue. Using Mystiqqs new logo.

That looks very good. Having spacecraft is different - the splash screens we've used previously have been absent of man made creations. Feels more like a space strategy game with them in it.
We could leave all the old, and new approved, spash screens in the distribution for v0.3, and have the game randomly pick one each time you start it. We'd have to edit out the logos on the old ones, and have the new logo stored as a separate file that's plopped on top each time, but it'd be kinda cool. Ideally, the game would dynamically load whatever images you put in a particular directory or with a particular name, so we could add more or remove images on the fly w/o recompiling, and the logo would be pasted on top of them and they'd be displayed in rotation like the others.
