Previous game suddenly was finished so I open thread about next game.

There next release will be soon and someone asks for testing game so I'm going to back to use weekly test builds.
Therefore, next game is planned next Wednesday, 8th April with test game planned with weekly test build at Tuesday, 7th April.

Also it requires to have #2688 and #2665 to be merged (should we also wait to fix #2799?).

Game changes:
  • Planet Density: High
  • Star count per player: 26
Currently there is 8 registered players and there still time to register:
o01eg
Oberlus
swaq
Hyperant
L29Ah
Magnate
ThinkSome
danyspin97
Should options and rules from previous game remain the same?

Edit: version of the server is 2020-04-05.aa122c8.

Sign me in.

Currently I'm upgrading to Ubuntu 18.04 and I expect problems (why the fuck there is no cmake by default in that distro?) but I can rely on Windows as long as compilation is not needed.

Regarding options:

Can we have high density planets?

Will diplomacy be enabled? (Please, yes, the no diplomacy game was rather diplomatic, even with planet "gifting", just with the nuissance of no diplomacy mechanics).
If so, in case of 2 fixed teams I vote for disc/box shapes, if no fixed teams then ring is OK.

I upgraded freeorion VPS on ssh without known issues. But it's a server without GUI and DE.

Yes.

I hope we'll get even count of the players because it was amount of time after single team game.

In case of regular play without teams should single player victory enabled?

I would like to participate again as well. I would like to see more systems per player this game. There were already border disputes taking place within the first 10 turns of the last game.

Another thing, IIRC, I had the impression that the empires were spatially arranged in the same order of their names, more evidently in the ring galaxy shape.
If that is true, can we avoid it?

Hello I'm here for another round of being the chronicles publisher.

High planet density sounds interesting

Well, cooperation was highly limited. Mainly you could not unify fleets. There was one funny instance where i tried to help L29Ah locking out swat from our cluster. I sent bubbles as chaff support. That worked because swat had higher detection and L29Ah could not detect them.

  • Planet density: High
  • Specials frequency: Low?
  • Monsters frequency: Low?
  • Native frequency: Low?
  • Diplomacy: enabled/disabled/fixed teams
  • Maximum X players can claim victory.

For this or another game. What do you all think about choosing the species beforehand? Publicly, I guess.

The Arc Disruptor (formerly Gamma Burst Slingshot) has been merged into master. I think it is not in this week's weekly test build but will be in the next one.
The KISS hard targetting PR#2665 needs rebase to be merged.

I can't wait until next Tuesday!!!

Great! L29Ah has signed in. I hope we can get one more player for even number.

Ophiuchus maybe?

I would prefer the species to remain random.
