Treachery!

Interstellar News Corporation

Treachery! Betrayal! Backstabbing!

Those barbarous slimy vines!

Yesterday around 1340 local time, as our glorious ground assault fleet were pooling into the system, those vines and their rusty pack of ships dared to violate the Waldorf Treaty, a non aggressive pact between our realms, by promptly and immediately opening fire on our assault fleet!

Responding quickly to the crisis, our forces have managed to decimate their forward fleet while sustaining relatively only moderate damage. Unfortunately this would come too late as most of our troop carriers were wiped out. Thousands of our brave men at arms who were doing their part to serve the Supreme League. Consequently, our plans for the conquest of the Crystalline Empire had been pushed back by weeks, possibly even months!

This act of defiance and treachery will not go unnoticed. They have messed with the wrong Galactic power. They have awaken up until this point, the sleeping giant

The Chief Generalissimo has already given the order to fully mobilize our already massive economy, and has vowed to stop at nothing until the vines have been eradicated from the galaxy!

The Vinite-League war of aggression, has begun!

Vengeance for our fallen warriors over Jua Gamma!

The Daily Gormoshk, Cycle 62

Vengeance is afoot

The forces of Chato, supported by loyal allies, have started their counteroffensive on Swaq empire. Enemy fleets, demoralized by our wrath, are retreating to their irradiated warrens. The enslaved Chato rejoice as they see their shackles destroyed by laser fire from heavens, by both L29Ah and Voker57 forces. Similar to the western agreement, Chato will stay in the allied empires and repay for the liberation with industrial effort.

Meanwhile, on the eastern Oberlus-Querens front Oberlus gathers his last strength and cannibalizes the remnants of his empire in last desperate attempt to escape the payback for his evil deeds. Will his industrial strength be able to delay the inevitable comeuppance? Doubtful.

In the deep east, two mighty empires of O01eg and Hyperant clash over the bloodied danyspin97 remains, having broke their truce over an apparent border demarkation disagreement. The Chato hope that they find a peaceful resolution of their gripes after all.

Dusk over the Crystalline Empire

Interstellar News Corporation

A few hours ago, word had spread through the galaxy that Emperor of the Crystalline Peoples, Emperor Dany, has formally abdicated the throne. With no designated successor amongst the chaos, a power vacuum has resulted in the ultimate dissolution of the Crystalline Empire.

Their southern worlds of Hegira and Stedda which had been under siege for several months have given up the will to fight, as they await integration into the Supreme League with the only world being out of reach at this time being their former capital, currently within Vinite space.

Meanwhile, the Asteria Flottila, the same fleet that had fought the battle over Jua, safely made its way to the Asterian Complex where it will undergo substantial repairs. The Flottila was greeted by a thunderous applause from the local population for its actions that day. It is only a matter of time until the Flottila goes on another sortie to drive the Vinites back to their watery planet.

The Daily Gormoshk, Cycle 66

Sick Robots of Galaxy

Cycle 66 heralds another crushing defeat for Oberlus navy. His main fleet made a desperate attempt to recapture Walther Beta, now fully under Querens control, and two some 500-structure fleets clashed in the vacuum.

After debris cleared, only few ships were remaining of his armada, while Querens' fleet, despite losing some of the barrier ships, is still well off. Oberlus' fleet will likely turn their tail yet again and try something even more stupid after being repaired.

Perhaps, as before, militaristic Swaq empire will be expected to do the fighting for Oberlus, if they are not too distraught by incident in the deep spaces past Primodus, where Oberlus failed to ensure safe conduct of Swaq's colony ship recently.

Eastern pause, Western firefight

Swaq and Oberlus keep undecisively hovering around. Swaq's fleet gingerly approached the chato homeworld, but after seeing the might of resurgent Chato empire and its allies, retreated back to bombard a defenseless war-torn world. Befitting.

Oberlus is trying some covert actions and weird maneuvers to delay his demise, which will probably lead to yet another epic failed pitched fight. Swaq is way too busy to bail his ass out of diplomatic failure once again.

Meanwhile, in the west Hyperant won a major fight with O1eg and is ready to keep going. Apparently O01eg's fleet was interceptor heavy and did not put much stock into armored barrier ships, which appear to be a staple of modern unpredictable space combat.

Yeah, gotta make sure you have some fuel to add a humiliating Oberlus-style march home to your defeat

Chaotic Motions

Interstellar News Corporation

Last week, as our powerful new fleet was heading to reengage the Vinites over Jua Gamma, those slimy vines slithered their forces away, effectively yielding control of the system. Those spineless creatures couldn't even bother putting up much of a resistance over the space of our fallen warriors. Promptly afterwards, the long awaited invasion of Jua Gamma I was launched. As their ground forces rapidly lost ground, they blew up most of the infrastructure on the planet, including engineering complexes, communication devices and even a massive cultural library that they demolished. After several days of heavy fighting, the planet would succumb to our warriors, completing the mission that their previous ones left off at. With a vital staging point secured, the invasion of Jua Gamma II is now imminent. However it would appear that the vinites, realizing that the situation was unsalvageable, evacuated millions of their subjugated subjects off world, leaving the planet uninhabited save for a few frontier defense brigades.

With the borderlands secured, Operation Nightcracker would begin. The operation is in its essance, a large scale counteroffensive aimed at driving their forces away from our borders. The Asterian Flottila then headed the operation with the Bombardment of Jua Beta. In the first major battle of the war, our forces crushed their navy decisively, thus beginning the Blockade of Jua Beta. Almost simultaneously, an assault was carried out on Hador Beta, a lone frontier system unpopulated and undefended.

Over the next several days on Jua Beta, millions of refugees fled the blockaded world, almost completely depopulating the world. It would appear that the Vinite Cluster's Position in the Mid-Orion sector is quickly falling apart.

Elsewhere in the galaxy, winds are changing.

Our two northern neighbours had been engaged in a multi sided lengthy and devastating conflict. The Potchine Empire as well as the Cubic Collective, both realms that we share economic ties with, have appealed to us, asking for intervention in their conflict. Their conflict must have really turned south if both realms must appeal for assistance. As of today, the response has not been released to the public as yet.

And finally, an exploration ship of ours was fired upon by an apparently offshoot realm of robotic pots. Pay compensation for the lost ship and its crew, or face never-ending cleansing fire.

Desperate Pleas From Warmongers

Apparently, after understanding that their unprovoked aggressiveness have caused irreversible damage to their winning chances, the Swaq-Oberlus axis are asking Hyperant for help, even going so far as giving Hyperant full sensor access. Of course, it is in Hyperant's best interests to keep the north galaxy burning, but will the intervention do any favor to the bloodthirsty empires?

Doubtful, unless one of them accepts a consolation win for being a good collaborator. After the ultimatum to Hyperant went unenforced and signer went on to attack their friend and co-signer instead, the fate of galaxy was more or less decided anyway. Shattered and in-fighting galaxy will be consumed by pinworms, order of consummation or who sells their neighbor first does not matter. Only the peace could solve this, not violence. But is it too late for peace?

The Cray Implosion

The Oberlus empire keeps shrinking under the righteous assault of Querens, and when Querens' fleet approached Oberlus homeworld they saw a peculiar occurence: at the sight of Querens fleet Oberlus evacuated his half-patched ships, his cultural archive, all other buildings and presumably their bowels. Puzzled and probably disgusted, Querens left the crays alone do degrade themselves further. Growing increasingly desperate and delusional, Oberlus shifts the remnants of his fleet all around on random raids, accomplishing nothing of note except providing a sideshow of ships stranded in deep space without fuel or scratching Chato barrier hulls.

The Slavery Option

Seeing the unyielding might of Chato and their allies, cravens give themselves over to (perceived) more competent authority: Oberlus empire is turning over control to Hyperant. Spite and weakness in this move is enough for Chato to turn their Gormoshk away from the sun for a moment. The deference to Hyperant, however, was seen in this pathetic species from the start, when they failed to enforce the ultimatum they sign. Well, perhaps the new management will provide more sport to Chato Avengers, something more entertaining then repeated failed attacks and opportunistic grabbing of systems.

Opportunistic Negotiation

Interstellar News Corporation

The Potchine Empire, our economic partner that had been melting under the pressure of a combined offensive by the Cubic-Pot Pact, had came to us earlier with a proposition. In exchange for providing a surplus of military aid and advisers to assist in combating their foes, they would agree to become a Mandate under the Supreme League. Weighing the options, a diplomatic mission was sent to various meeting grounds across their empire. However, a lone route into the realm had been blockaded by the Potians. Using both a variety of communication spoofing techniques as well as boosting engine output, the group of ambassadors were able to run the blockade safely. With that, the Potchine Mandate has been set in motion, starting with their capital which mysteriously had its administrative and cultural centers leveled.

Meanwhile in the East, following a matching of movements on all sides, the League Navy would clash with the Joint Vinite-Potian Fleet at the major Battle of Ceti's Disruptive Cloud. Our ships fought valiantly against the combined onslaught, with both sides taking heavy losses. This battle comes weeks after the Vinites have been driven out of the Jua-Hador Cluster. Concurrently, the League Navy had launched an assault on the sparsely populated Arunan Beta Field. However, like the past few systems, the Vinites have yet again evacuated their population, this time 3rd class robots, from the asteroid belt. They can't keep running away forever, for soon we will be on the steps of the Waldorf System, a vital energy production hub.

Surely their core systems can not handle the mass of refugees fleeing the battlefields.
