Thanks to the Programmers 0.3

#1 Post by The_Commentator »

On behalf of all here in the FreeOrion community, I'd like to thank Aq and all the programmers for all their hard work to create and complete this release. They've DONATED their time and energy into creating something for the good of everyone--especially for the overcharged and mall-weary gamers.

THANKS, YOU ROCK!

Bravo gentlemen, bravo!

I have anxiously been waiting to see the improvements discussed over the last year or so implemented in a new release. Hopefully 0.3 will draw back some of the old standby contributers along with the some new blood.

My only question is what's the projected release date for 0.4?

We have decided to release incremental builds every month (minimum). 0.4 will take a lot of work because it's going to be a detailed combat engine. However, you can expect many more releases building up to it with bugfixes and other improvements.

So, on that note: 0.3.1 is due out at the end of January.

That's great news! I honestly hadn't expected an answer. I've been lurking here almost daily since '03 so I have a pretty good idea of the pace of progress.

I simply wanted to ask this question in a humorous manner before some bozo shows up and said "U guys suck. It's been 2 and 1/2 days since the last build. Any real project would have hourly releases."

Incremental builds would be great, but all I really care about is that you folks do this thing the way you intend. The work so far has been stellar. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Happy Holidays,

The 'Ling

VERY GOOD DESITION
I was somehow missing the third number in the versions
