I was wondering whats the staus on the design docs for space combat was and the general progress of FreeOrion at this point, ie an ETA of when things might get moving again.

It just feels kind of lonely here on the forums, heh. There's been a bit of forum activity in Brainstorming, and lots of spammers starting threads about casinos, but generally the activity isn't as great as it once was.

Can't wait 'til we get going again.

Has this page been here for some time or was it just recently created?

Well anyway so far the principles of the space combat look very good. Although there are still many important questions that need an answer like how big will the battles be and how much damage can individual ships take, one of the things I really hated in MOO 3 because your new ships with top quality shields and weapons lasted for approximately 2 seconds of fire from an equal enemy before they were blown out of the sky.

But so far the space combat looks great! Hopefully we will get even more info from it soon.

I'm not quite sure, but I think it's quite new. At least it was recently(august 1st) updated by Aquitaine.

This is a new document - watch that space for progress. Some discussions will come to the forums.

That page was actually supposed to remain internal until we'd got it to a point I really want to talk about publicly, but now that it's out, you can watch it develop over the next couple of weeks. I'll open up a design thread just to give you guys something relevant to talk about (though I'm not at a point where I can manage public input for this yet).
Surprise and Terror! I am greeted by the smooth and hostile face of our old enemy, the Hootmans! No... the Huge-glands, no, I remember, the Hunams!
