I used ka's stars and the universe generation algorithms in the design document. Looks nice huh? I'm not sure what's going on with all the red though.

It don't looks right to me. Most of the stars are displayed like they would appear if you are close to them. (Like we see our sun) The only star which looks right to me it the blue one with white center (at Becrux)

I agree with noelte, they do look too big. And I thought they would be used with the old stars in the map as well, not replacing them complitely. The blue black-holes and neutron stars do look good as well, but the basic stars are way too big.

The stars look like they were made using SolarCell, a very nice Photoshop plug-in from Flaming Pear, with no touch-up work afterwards. I agree with nolte and mui. Nice "effort", but the stars can be a lot better.

KD's starship icons look nice though. I like them alot.

edit: Just noticed the spril shape. Some non-clickable single point filler stars to round out the shape might or might not work well.

OK I will go back to v0.1 stars for now as that seems to be consensus. You might notice too that we need art for swamp, inferno, asteroids, gas giants, white and orange stars, and neutron stars and black holes.

I like the stars in 0.2 better than 0.1 :)

Maybe the star colours should have more gradation in colour so they don't look too much like blotches...

I find the stars in 0.2 to be too flat. Version 0.1 is way better 8) .

I think I understand now. Ka's suns were supposed to be displayed at the top of the sidepanel (where it would make sense to see a 'close-up' version of the star). Sorry for any confusion.
