Bugs in rev 4251
- random generation seems not to work - three games in a row with my home planet being Ancha and the surrounding planets the same order and names, even down to the monster lairs
- I don't want monsters! yet I get them even with life frequency = zero...

This is not a bug and is not new. Reproducible galaxies aide testing. If you want something different, add or remove a star.Zireael wrote:- random generation seems not to work
Those monsters aren't generated with the universe and subject to the life frequency setting. Rather, specials are creating them with effects.- I don't want monsters! yet I get them even with life frequency = zero...

Re: Bugs in rev 4251
Hmm, I guess i could have the L1 monsters "magically" create the nests at a distance in turn 1, or before turn 1, and take those specials out of the list of ones that are spawned at universe generation.Geoff the Medio wrote:Zireael wrote:Those monsters aren't generated with the universe and subject to the life frequency setting. Nests at a distance aren't a bad idea - I end up swarmed with monsters because there's three lairs in the 3 rounds' distance from the home planet...

Re: Bugs in rev 4251
OK, fixed in revision 4260, sorta.
I still need to make sure they don't pop up too close to inhabited planets.

Thanks.
I fired up a different game, with specials set to medium.
I was no longer overrun by monsters.
But I noticed another bug: terraforming doesn't work...

Please be more specific. What did you try and what happened?Zireael wrote:But I noticed another bug: terraforming doesn't work...
Re: Bugs in rev 4251
I'm playing as Humans so that the best suited planets are terran. I built Terraforming on an ocean planet. It still is ocean. Nothing happened. The health & pop max didn't change, either.

I just tried the same thing in the SVN version, and it worked as expected; my ocean planet turned into Terran.Zireael wrote:I'm playing as Humans so that the best suited planets are terran. Re: Bugs in rev 4251
It doesn't happen on the turn it was built. Did you wait a turn after constructing it?Zireael wrote:I'm playing as Humans so that the best suited planets are terran. I built Terraforming on an ocean planet. It still is ocean. Nothing happened. The health & pop max didn't change, either.
Warning: Antarans in dimensional portal are closer than they appear.
Re: Bugs in rev 4251
Thanks for the tip. It worked.
