This is just to document a somewhat obscure mechanic as it currently works (i wanted to test it for a practical application, so i figured i may as well document it):
An enemy is unable to blockade you if you are currently blockading it. The question was whether an empire's ally blockading an enemy is also sufficient to allow that empire's ship to avoid being blockaded. The short answer appears to be "no". These pictures should illustrate what i mean:
Testing included peaceful diplomatic relations in addition to allies and the illustrated action was confirmed on the advance of a turn (the green ship passes through Zygot, the blue ship is stopped and engages in combat).
