perhaps it can be adjusted by mixing some white in the dark blue
I agree about the problem and will take a look at it. In the meantime you could take care of it for yourself by experimenting with changing the "Pure Blue" color in default/empire_colors.txt

- you could maybe lend a working color set from linux console themes http://ethanschoonover.com/solarized

- Pedia description of the Trans Spatial Drive needs a mention of the Advanced Engineering Bay dependency

I've updated some of the darker empire colors now.

- late game stage play against bots is kinda boring

it becomes a drag to manage the units even with a default small 150 system universe, and all the while you feel you already won and it cant escape you

perhaps some balancing shoudl be doen there (dunno what)

I do see bots build all the advanced weapons though, perhaps that should be made slightly more agressive
rush them to the front immediately

also alliances, I havent been able to use diplomacy a single time, I get rejected every time

I guess the wining condition should be capture all enemy faction planets and units,
independent non empires are usually no threat

For diplomacy, bear in mind Maniacal AIs will always reject advances, and most AIs on Max=Maniacal will be that, set it to Aggressive and you might get somewhere (although it's still only a very barebones implementation there's no real decision making involved, yet.

- AI gives scripting errors every turn in the message display, when the opponent is no longer.

Hopefully the same ones that have already been fixed. Or are you seeing something different?

nope this is still broken occasionally in commit da87e3fa37f121601e297b1cd8057efe99d60728

I dont have the time to bisect where it was broken
but probably the fleetwindow changes in past days
