¿How are the spaceships production points costs calculated?

¿How are the spaceships production points costs calculated?

Every ship has a differen production points cost, but i cannt see while desingning the ship any info on the production cost. Someone knows how is it calculated?

Each hull is given a base production cost within their game file (either in default/ship_hulls.txt or default/scripting/ship_hulls/shipname.focs.txt depending on your version number).

Then each of these costs is multiplied by the fleet upkeep multiplier which is worked out by how many ships your empire has (if you have 50 ships, then the multiplier is 1.5). This is a placeholder effect untilt he planned Influence/Trade mechanic is introduced to cover the costs of maintaining a fleet separately from the costs of producting it.

Ship parts are costed and multiplied similarly.

As of 0.4.4, the ship hull costs were all rebalanced to be, roughly, on a par with each other in game with the main factor to determine costs being the number of external slots the hull had, most other factors such as speed, self-repair and stealth being of secondary or tertiary importance. Another pass to rebalance them will be needed during the next release cycle as new features planned will make, for example, internal slots far more important/valuable.

There is no specific formula, I did toy with the idea of trying to create one but it would involve placing an exact value on player preferences, some people really like stealth sneak attacks others blunt force attacks, each should be viable.

For a suggestion:
-Add in the desing tab the production cost
-Add the production cost of all parts and hulls in the wiki

It's already there, right under the name of the hull/design/part. As far as I can remember, it's been there since at least version 0.4.0.
-Add the production cost of all parts and hulls in the wiki
We had someone running an automated script to do this once but it wasn't particularly efficient, and until the game is finished then production costs are subject to change at any time, it is far more important to ensure they're displayed correctly in game in both the design and Pedia sections, which they are.
