It also affects GitLab, although they are warning users before blocking them.

That is a very disturbing development.

Keeping politics out of the forum and the project in general has been a core part of the "code of conduct" since forever, but when politics start to affect and impair the infrastructure we need for collaboration, we're in trouble. This should not happen. I'm really, really upset about this. :(

Dealing with this if it becomes a serious problem will be very difficult. We might have to migrate to another platform, and it would have to be one hosted in a country that is not likely to pull such crap.

*SIGH*

I can recommend framagit.org, it is a Framasoft-hosted Gitlab CE instance. I have been using it for the past year.

They said they plan to shut it down, but I hope they can be convinced to keep it :)

Using closed source platforms for the development of free software in unacceptable.

Still do not see the connection. First one complains that no one should connect to any site of Leven Labs. Second one is github transparency about requests for changing that file. I guess github relayed that to the repo owner. And those did not want to take the monetarial risk of going to court.
So what was the github fault here? Not protecting the repo owner?

This can only get political.
