Using Bitstream Vera instead of Arial

#1 Post by Yoghurt »

It would be better if we could use Vera instead of Arial as the standard font of FreeOrion, as we cannot redistribute Arial.

Bitstream created Vera as a free font for open-source projects and allows redistribution of any kind.

And it looks better ;)
I will make the required changed to the source and add Vera.ttf to CVS, if nobody objects

PS: Should i post this to graphics, too?

Go ahead, and I don't think we need to mention it to graphics.

Vera Sans = Sans Serif => Helvetica, Arial-like
Serif => Times New Roman-like
Mono => Monospaced, Courier New like

Edit: Vera.ttf is now the default, I will remove arial.ttf from WindowsKit (and add zconf.h while I'm at it ;))
