This is going to sound ludicrous, but I'd really like to help make this game great. To do that, it would probably help if I could tweak certain parts of the code, compile my changes and run the program to see the effect. (that's proabably way obvious to everyone here).
The trouble is I'm not a programmer by trade. I've done some coding, but usually someone else has set up the system I was using.
Is there any chance we have a FreeOrion programmer in or near San Fran, Boston or Chicago who could help get my laptop set up with all the files and software I need? I'm going to be in all three cities this month (and should have wheels in each), so I could meet you somewhere public that has wireless internet coverage and hopefully you can get me up to speed in an hour or two. I'd be happy to buy drinks, dinner, whatever for your trouble.
