Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server

Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
Is there any possibility of rewinding to turn 114? Blueaward had an entire fleet wiped to bad UI around blockades. Probably game over for him. Its an old one, if 2 fleets enter a blockaded system from 2 directions the UI tells you that you can retreat to either system, when in reality the individual ships can only retreat to the system they came from.
Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
No problem myself. I didn't do anything interesting during the last turns. Vote yes to rewind.
Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
Yes, I think it's fine to rewind.wobbly wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 4:26 pm Is there any possibility of rewinding to turn 114? Blueaward had an entire fleet wiped to bad UI around blockades. Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
Oh wow thank you! Yeah my pincer manouver and retreat did not end as planned, to put mildly.
Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
The UI was indeed showing both ways out of the system as safe for all of the ships involved, unlike other two exits of the systems, which it was hinting as blocked. It was refusing to join the fleets so maybe it should have been my clue that something is not right but well... got lured into false sense of security by UI. And even now that I know to watch for it, I can see how it can get confusing if you have multiple fleets and ships involved in pincer manouvers. It really should show the "safe" route for every ship accordingly without you having to remember which ship came from where
Meant to say I will file later probably because of real life engagement now, but I see wobbly filed so thank you, again
Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
Folks,
In a week's time I'm off to a quite involved vacation, for three weeks. I will have my laptop and surely Internet access wherever we sleep (besides airplanes perhaps), but even so, there may be little time for other stuff than sleep.
In other words expect me to time out quite often in a week for three weeks.
It is an entertaining thought to give keys to my kingdom to Oberlus, so he'd make it more interesting for wobbly or Endhu from both sides, but that doesn't sound fair. Perhaps o01eg would be less disruptive but still not fair in our setup.
Maybe giving access to someone outside like Ophiuchus is an option if you don't want to wait too often. Personally I'd rather still try doing things on my own even with timeouts, though risk of missing a turn in these involved times doesn't sound nice. But I would not like to miss the fun!
Oberlus mentioned he is travelling next weekend too, without laptop, so maybe at least temporary hold on two accounts could take place, but afterwards if it were only for me I would not want to push it, I knew what I signed up for but, again, will likely have to heavily lean on the 36h timeouts until second week of May so apologies

Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
Don't worry, if needed I could disable turn timeouts for a while.

Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
If the build you use has a snap, i can take your Empire for a while.
I'd need to be briefed about the Galaxy, your strategic objectives, and the novelties of this build, though.

Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
It's a stable 0.5 release so it should be on snap.

Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
I believe it does have a snap, though ideally I want to avoid handing the game over, I see it as a last resort - I still hope I will be able to play often enough. So thank you, but I hope other folks won't be annoyed too much with a bit of presumed slowdown (generally we're mostly 2 turns per day now, when there was less to do it was 3+, think with my trip it will be more like 1 turn a day, maybe 2 turns one day, no turn the other etc)
I don't want to set a bad example I realize what I signed up for, the name of the game is 36h and if I can't do it so be it, but there's hope for reciprocity that if I do take those 36h for a few weeks it won't annoy people too much. In MP21 and MP22 I had some family trips and nobody noticed, but this time is a bigger ordeal hence the warning
Still, maybe at least for the next weekend 14-16 to accomodate Oberlus as well, though I gathered he'd be fine to skip a turn if need be.
Re: Twenty-third game on the multiplayer slow game server
So wobbly, Endhu and o01eg decides about pauses or not
