New Species trait : Bloodlust

What about a new Trait for "war frenzy" which would give pilots of this trait-bearing Species a bonus in target-rich environment ?
Like one additional shot for each weapon on the fourth round per 10 enemy ships ?
For Flak, it could be one additional shot per 10 enemy fighters, and for Arcs and Interceptors, per 20 enemy fighters...

Great Bloodlust would get this bonus also on the third round, Ultimate from the second round...
Great Pilots should not get this trait, maybe one Species of Good Pilots could get the first level of Bloodlust.


Not as the same Trait, but connected to bloodlust too (so one of the two traits should get a different name), would it be possible to nudge "bloodlust" species towards targeting wounded ships ?
So as to guarantee some kills, to the expense of a risk of overkill.
That could make for interesting fleet composition.

No playable Species should get that second trait, but Eaxaw would probably be a fitting case to get it.

this has all the usual weird plus-1-turn effects. must be based on the last turn positions of the ships.

this is impossible (with the current backend)

Generally in a veery ugly way, yes. Composability of targeting would be what we need.

What we have is one round of species targeting. Here you can narrow down the valid targets (exclude some).

Then one round of ship part targeting.

The problem is that the first round does not know what valid targets are, so you might remove all valid targets.
So you cant nudge/give a preference. What you can do is something like: George never attacks George.
Or if the content fits, one can do more things, but it will probably come back to haunt you when you add new content.

The other possibility is to put the species aspect into the ship part targeting. E.g. using OrderedAlternativesOf; or write your own specialized value ref in the backend; note it must wrap around your normal targeting valueref.
But you have to put it in each weapon part such a species can use.
Any code or patches in anything posted here is released under the CC and GPL licences in use for the FO project.
