kangisha - artwork included, requesting story

#1 Post by pd »

this is basicly an idea of future humans.

they modified their bodys to work in conjunction with their technology to skip
natural limitations. i imagine them to be great scientists and maybe even
good warriors(not sure whether it's possible to balance this).

i'm not a good story-teller, at least not with words - so let the pictures speak:
Image
the mesh is fully rigged and ready for animation(though i won't start with this until v0.7).

i hope you like them and somebody is interested in writing a more detailed backstory.

more to come...

edit: changed the subject to be more specific, in the hope there is someone out there taking this task

*Futilely resists urge to make crack about "natural limitations" as applied to the model*

Pleasing on the eyes (beyond that fact that the model is of a curvaceous woman, I mean), but how does the description come through in the model? Any particular reason these humanoids altered the shape of their heads?

And I'm not just asking pd. Any takers?

Edit: Aaahhhh, didn't notice it before. Neural signals rerouted through fiber optics to their spines, perhaps? Bypassing those painfully slow neurons?

Looks good.
I would love to see them as militant, mathriarcal-faschistic aestetician warlords with enchanced cybernetics to allow direct communication with their ships. A step more dangerous race of space-babes :)

Edit: "Everything on this ship is directly connected to my nerv-system, you men have no idea how good it feels to blow you up." ;)

The models look great, though I'd already seen sneak previews thanks to posts in irc ;)

The important question is - are they strong enough to destroy the Spathi of Aquitaine?

Unlike us humans the Spathi can't keep one eye on the women and the other eye on the incoming enemy. The Spathi will only see the women and go "gfnsghlhghlsghj" (translated: "wow, I gots to get some of dat!!!")

Are these things going to BE the Humans of our game or are they in addition to some regular plain old un-enhanced humans.

I think we should ditch the traditional Humans and use these as the only "Human" race in FreeOrion. It would be a lot more entertaining to have a modestly dytopian view of Humanities future (the facism stuff Miu mentioned, perhaps with a bit of StarShip Troopers thrown in as well) rather then the tired old Federation style Utopia stuff. For onece I would like to see human or atlest Neo-Humans kick some ass rather then serve as Bug bait.

Keep up the good work PD!!

As for everyone else lets do are part and work on the story back-ground.

Races are not going to be chosen or determined until 0.8, so it's way too early to decide.

Oh... my... word... 8O

That looks amazing.

Was she by any chance modelled after Angelina Jolie? Facially, at least, there are similarities.

How about a male model to go with the female?

thanks charlieg. and yes, angelina was used as rough reference for the face.

zanzibar: this is very unlikely going to happen, at least in the near future. the time spend on creating a male model would be much better spend with creating another race.

pd, did you try the model without eyebrows or eyelashes?

nice use of focal blur on the ears and background cord things on the headshot.

great texturing on the skin (esp. the details) and fabrics.

did you consider any other ethnicities? or perhaps some mixed ethnic features?
