And third how about another Science Building... like the Theorem Provider... or it's a Neutronium Refinery:

All these buildings have been added on the retrospective page.

Today's update is about shields. So, what about shields? Well to get shield tech and components you have to build one building, which is the Shield R&D Institute.

I like the glow you added to the red stripes on the lighthouse, but the glow on the bottom seems a bit fake.

The Theorem Prover/Neutronium Refinery would look good as either, IMO, however since the Neutronium Forge is likely to be an orbital structure, I would recommend using this as a research building, and perhaps replace that top column with something less industrial looking. It's pretty good the way it is now, though.

Second concentration camp is kinda meh, to be honest. The first one was quite a bit better.

Generic Building looks like it could be useful for something.

Shield building is my favourite so far. I wonder though, if it could be improved by making that bottom part glowy (the same part as on the lighthouse)? Or in this case, that part could be removed completely/made solid/different, since I don't think it really adds anything positive to the structure's appearance. Maybe make the base that solid green colour, with a some black horizontal bars/holes on it, either in the middle, or on both sides, like there are on the vertical part of the structure.

Hi, guys. Busy time here. Had another jump at the PsiCorps. Still WIP.

Interesting effect. I think it would look better though, if the glow was purple, and the main structure was a different colour. The current colour combination just looks... off, you know what I mean? Red glow could work though, depending on the colour of the main structure, but I personally associate espionage more with purple.

I had been painting over your psycorps icon a while ago. I don't like how it came out too much, but maybe it's helpful somehow.

- intensified perspective
- bulkier
- more repetition
- fierce color scheme

Nice work on all the other buildings. That's quite an effort.I'll look them over when I find some time.

That's quite awesome, pd. You could say that it's the building version of the Free Orion logo, because of the colors and the red-star-cross in the middle. Hmm ... it does open up some design features I didn't think about until now in my building designs. Thank you very much.
Here's a retrospective post, again, with all the buildings plus the 2 PsiCorps (which at this point can exist as two separate buildings).

L.E. Take your time pd, because, if I understand correctly, the building mechanics are still not fully understood. So, there's no rush for final building icons.

Cmd. Marko,
these are very nice -- certainly much better than what we have in the game now: the same icon repeated for every building.
I'm committing them.

 How would you like your name in the credits? Just your nick, or the real name too?

It's no problem to update the file if you come up with an improved version of the building. I believe in commit early, commit often.

EDIT:
I've also uploaded some icons from Redcap and GlasShadow.

I've applied the icons rather liberally. For instance all the shipyards get the shipyard icon for now-- it's more informative than the generic icon.

The ones i uploaded with a "?" in the name, i wasn't sure what they should attach to. Feel free to rename for appropriate buildings.

The ? have broken the SVN checkout on Windows as it is an invalid character for filenames. Could you rename it / them to exclude the ? (or delete and re-add with a new name(s)) and commit ASAP?

Sorry about that.
Fixed.
A ton of files will update because i forgot to narrow the context. I'm in the middle of improving the compression of the PNGs (losslessly of course) and this commit will get a big chunk of that too.

Still broken for me.
Can't check path
'D:\games\FreeOrionSVN\trunk\FreeOrion\default\data\art\icons\building\orbital?.png':
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

There's no longer any "?" in the repository. See?

I suggest you delete the file manually then update SVN.

Try SVN clean up (in the right-click TortoiseSVN menu).
