I downloaded this file and the filename is "fr_stringtable.txt.corrupt"
are you sure it's the right file?

At first a short introduction: I live in France, play video games since 1981 (on a Tandy TRS80), can't code, nor draw any original draught... only suggest translations into my native language.
So I have worked since a few days on the alchemy/shivu/zareif fr.txt (see above) and the en.txt supplied with the SVN6513 of The Game and can now make the proposal of a first nt.txt* (attached) I wish you all to test, criticize (I made some heavy changes along with light ones in fr.txt!)... And say if it is worth of an asking for commit.

* that is posted under CC-BY-SA 3.0 license

I'm having trouble loading non-default stringtables at the moment (not just this one), so if someone else could check that this file works, that'd be helpful.

Yesterday I switch to de or fr, I dont remenber, but I get Italo-English txt.
Today I switch to fr and get fr-en txt.

There was some weird issue with the version string checking causing the stored config.xml to be ignored, but that string not being suitably updated when options were changed. I just ended up deleting my config.xml and the issue resolved; not sure what, if anything, changed in code to cause it or how to prevent.

Regardless, I committed the French stringtable update. Nilstilar, send me a pm with a real name for the credits if you'd like to have one listed.

Bonsoir à tous,

Ayant découvert depuis peu FreeOrion (en fait, ayant eu le courage de m'y mettre plutôt :p), j'ai décidé de mettre à jour la traduction FR.

J'ai utilisé WinMerge pour comparer le fichier en.txt (11/08/2014) et fr.txt (17/03/2014).

Évidemment, les strings déjà traduits apparaissent comme des différences, mais les strings manquants dans le fichier FR sautent aux yeux, étant donné que le logiciel insère automatiquement le nombre de lignes manquantes. Tandis que les modifications des strings anglais sont aussi notifiés (ancien string EN dans le fichier FR apparaissent en différences)

Bref, il faut quand même passer ligne par ligne (ALT+DOWN) pour sauter de différence en différence, et ALT+RIGHT pour copier directement les lignes manquantes dans le fichier FR. Il suffit d'avoir l'oeil!

Les fichiers sont rigoureusement identiques à la ligne près désormais, et j'ai donc démarré la traduction des nouveaux strings.

Mais patatras, je voulais un peu tester et j'ai ces deux lignes qui sont apparues dans le log:

Argh, je ne comprends pas, je ne trouve pas d'expressions semblables ni dans le EN ni dans le FR.

J'avais eu quelques autres erreurs (notamment l'oubli des ''' parfois), mais ça a été corrigé facilement.

J'ai comparé à nouveau entièrement les deux fichiers, rien à faire, je ne vois pas de différence.

Avez-vous une idée?

Pour la petite histoire, mon dernier boulot de traduction: la FR mise à jour de Monkey Island 2 (ici) -y'avait du boulot- pour prévenir que je ne fais pas n'importe quoi avec la traduction! :wink:

Bref, avant de partir plus en avant dans la MAJ de la traduction FR de FreeOrion, j'attends de savoir s'il y a une solution (des fois que je traduise pour rien!)
