A friend showed me a program that he uses to make images like these. His are far more impressive than mine.

Nice, execept that #1, 3, 4 and # 2 + 5 have the same cloud layers. The orange clouds of planet #2 are awesome, looks like an inferno world.

they look very flat. because there seems to be only 1 light coming directly from the camera.

and the cloud bumps are too heavy in my mind.

what's the grey outer ring?

These are just demo's. They are not by any means "top quality" images.

They were posted to demonstrate the basic look that could be achieved with minimal effort. It took less than five minutes to makes these images. Imagine if I spent time on them how they would look.

That'll be the atmosphere, though it shouldn't be protruding so much. but you guys got remember these images will be scaled down.

And, i'll third that vote on knowing what the proggy doing this is. looks interesting...is it free\shareware\over-priced-tosh-wareTM?

looks great in-game..

edit: you can check it out if you like: terran.zip
these are the pics terran1.png, terran2.png and terran3.png - basicly all pics show the same planet, but at another rotation.

Wow, this look's really great. Would it be possible to do some rotation for this planet?
