Any chances we can help TSO to not miss a turn?

I can restart server, so timeout will count 23h again.

So can I.

I'm going away on Sunday for a week. I'm not sure if I'll have access to wifi - it's a camp site, so I ought to be able to find wifi somewhere, but you know how these things are (I also need somewhere to charge the laptop etc.). I don't want everyone to wait for a week but apologies from me if I drop out. I'll log in just before I go and then if I'm not online within 24h just AI me (or 48h if you're feeling generous).

I saw you changed time for turn to about 4 days. Good job!

On the forums, I think that means the recipient hasn't logged in or hasn't read them yet.

JonCST wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 2:04 pm But, in a slow multiplayer game, people will probably connect to check status more often than to change their minds about their orders. At least, that's what i've been doing.
What can happen with status? Turn advances happen after predictable time or player will be notified about next turn started.

Looks like this game will be affected with https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/issues/2521. Should I start new after this issue will be fixed?

At the time i wrote that i wasn't aware of any notification. So far I've seen one turn notification via email out of 5 turns. Twice I've seen turn notification via the message window.

Quick assumption check: if you're the last to enter orders, you get notification via message window, and it sends e-mail to everyone else?

Knowing about e-mail notification will make me check less often, if we can trust it.

We can definitely trust it, though Gmail puts it into spam.

Since the galaxy is so small, I don't think anyone will research self-grav hulls before the end of the game ...

Creating a filter to put messages from "[email protected]" directly into the inbox prevents them going to spam. GMail still thinks they're spam, but the filter overrides that.

And, i've now seen two e-mails and two messages out of 7 notifications. If i was the person to trigger turn processing on the other turns, maybe i just didn't see the message. It might make sense to go ahead and do e-mail to every player regardless, if that's not the way it's done now.

Dumb question: is there a (convenient/easy) way to put the turn number into the e-mail notifications?

Hello, JonCST. New turn (8) started

or similar?

Thanks.

Jon
