Stable release, Super-Tester?

#1 Post by defaultuser » Mon Feb 10, 2020 2:42 am

I installed what I think is the new 0.4.9 stable release:

FreeOrion_v0.4.9_2020-02-02.db53471_Win32_Setup.exe

In the Production Items list, it has the Super-Tester Takeover building. I thought that was only supposed to be there for test builds.

It can be disable via game rule. Looks like change of default value was missed.
Gentoo Linux x64, gcc-9.2, boost-1.72.0
Ubuntu Server 18.04 x64, gcc-7.4, boost-1.65.1

Sorry, that would be an oversight on my part. I was under the impression that the default for the Super Testers has been set to "off" in master, so I didn't pay attention to that anymore.

Meaning, if the Super Testers are not "off" by default in master, it should be changed to be so.

I had the impression, since I'm more actively playtesting, that master has by default "on", and that it was because master is often used to create weekly test builds (for which Super Testers come in handy) and only seldom to create Releases that had to change to "off" manually.
I don't have a preference, as long as it can be enabled on game creation for all builds.
