species #2 from the master list - Sleepers

#1 Post by stpa »

simple creatures. not much use. but they fill up some planets and can do some industry. not as much thought went into them (yet) as with #1 the nightsiders. and i'll put them in the same pr as before because it would get tedious with all the crossreferences in different branches, for one thing they are a candidate prey species for the nightsiders so makes little sense to branch out.

following text in triple apostrophes is copied from ingame pedia. see screenshots attached.

Species that like: Nightsiders

Feathered flightless birdlike creatues who are forced to hibernate a lot. Befor winter, which is five sixths of their year, suitable sleeping sites need to be prepared. Sometimes they dream of far away places they can never visit. But mainly their winters are dominated just by deep and dreemless sleeping. When they are awake during and around periastron, the very brief really livable period in their world's orbit closest to the star, they can be quite industrious. But they mostly prefer to sit around and do nothing. Somnambulism is a trait they greatly admire, but the art of sleepwalking is beyond them and they never achieved it.
