Twenty-fourth game on the multiplayer slow game server

Previous game is look to be end soon so I preparing next teamed game. It will continue to use stable version 0.5.

There will be two teams with manual assignment. The test game will be started 31st of May and actual game will be started 1st of June.

Changes from previous games:
  • Systems per player: 52.
  • Research cost: 80%.
  • Production cost: 80%.
  • Protection Focus Stability Bonus: 3
  • Planet Stability Baseline: 1
  • Singularity of Transcendence Cost Scaling: 0.8
  • Diplomacy changes disabled.
  • Team game.
  • Monsters Frequency: Low.
  • Galaxy Shape: Ring

I should be able to play.
But Wobbly doesn't want to be in the same team as me, so will you manage that point ?

Also, could someone explain to me briefly the main differences between the last MP version that I played and the new version ?

Yes, it's manageable to organize teams considering that.

Do you mean FreeOrion version or game setup?

I think that will be challenging in general, but particularly for species with bad or very bad stability. Replicon would not be able to use stuff like GGG, Metropoles unless very lucky with specials.

In 23rd game, Singularity cost was 0.5 and BlueAward was able to get it before turn 250 while also growing his empire and fighting back Endhu and Wobbly.
I'd like it to be at least 0.8. Since last balance pass cost 1.0 is not unreasonable.

It's only -1 of previous game, do they suffered such already in 23rd game?

Maybe it's only for Replicon. With their -5 stability I was unable to use Nascent AI or GGG in most planets, and Necesity worked meh because their -50% research also affects it.

Nice of you to assume I am playing however sadly I have doubts. Not that I did not have fun, on the contrary. But I might be treating this too seriously and maybe I could use a break / spend more of the little free time alone I get on something else for a bit at least...

Yeah, but this proved to not be very interesting to play.
I'm not against testing this value of one though, especially with Protection giving only +3, should be challenging indeed.

It didn't changed much as we reached stable release while playing 23rd game.

I have holidays in mid-June. I hadn't replied to this thread as I've still been too lazy to decide if I'm going away or not. At the least there's a few days in there that I'll be away visiting friends. So could be away for a few days, or could be away for up to 2 weeks. Unlikely to have a laptop on me.

Anyway, if there are enough players to start without me I'm fine with missing it. Or we can start later. Or a teammate could play my empire for a short period.

I'd like to postpone start of the game up to week later either in hope to gather more players.
